Interview:
How did you get into Yoga?
I got into Yoga as a young adult, when I discovered free community classes at a small studio near where I worked. I also remember at the time being in college and hearing some of my instructors talk about how much they love Yoga, which made me curious about what it was all about.
What do you like to do in your classes?
I like to incorporate songs, do Sun salutations, play games, add partner poses, and sometimes do art activities
Can you share a tip with us?
I like to allow the kids to be involved in the classroom and I by giving them options, teaching them varies breaths and allowing them to choose, and letting them show off poses they know and love. I think this really helps them understand that yoga is very personal practice and there’s no right or wrong way to do it.
What is your favorite pose?
My favorite pose is half pigeon or eka pada rajakapotasana (which is super fun to say).
We love you Tami! Thank you for everything you are doing for the community!
