Materials needed
Jar or bottle that can be sealed
Hot water
Clear glue and fine glitter or glitter glue
Hot glue gun or super glue (for sealing your jar)
Directions
Fill jar or bottle 1/8 to 1/3 full of glue (the more glue you use, the slower the glitter will settle). If using glitter glue, squeeze in a few globs of it.(Glitter glue worked better for me
If using clear glue, add glitter. Start with a tablespoon or so and add more if you'd like.
Fill the bottle or jar most of the rest of the way with warm water and replace the cap.
Give a shake to see if you want to add more glitter or glue.
Use a hot glue gun to seal the cap. Run a bead of glue along the top threading of the jar and then screw cap back on to decure.

SOME IDEAS OF HOW TO USE YOUR MINDFULNESS JAR
As a tool in a calm-down corner
Use your mindfulness jar as a tool for a calm-down corner. Have your kid shake up the jar and take deep breaths while watching the glitter settle back down to the bottom.
Taking a mindful break as a family
Take out the jar when there is a conflict or people are having a hard time communicating well. You can say something like, "Let's all take some deep breaths and try to relax our minds while we wait for the glitter to settle in the calm-down jar."
Working on Focus
You can add a larger item (or a few!) to your jar and work to focus and find the larger item(s) as the glitter settles.
