Children's Yoga Series

Tuesdays 4-5 pm, February and March
Yoga classes in this series are geared for the high energy and creative nature of children ages 3-8. Children are encouraged to express themselves through imagination and play! Classes will include tuning in together with sounds, breathing techniques, warm-ups, songs, games, yoga stories, guided relaxation and meditation. Children will learn how to incorporate their breath into postures, how to engage different muscles, and how to become aware of their bodies in space. Students will leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and share their newfound self-awareness with peers and family members!
Components of the class will help children with the following:
~ Breath Awareness Techniques: Increase focus, reduce stress, and promote self-regulation
~Yoga Poses: Increase strength, flexibility, body awareness, and coordination.
~Yoga Stories: Teach life lessons about cause and effect, how to relate and communicate with others, and how to problem solve
~Meditation: Enhance concentration, relax and release tension, and arrive in the present moment.
~Mindfulness: Learn self-awareness, healthy habits and non-violence.
~Relaxation: Cultivate peace and serenity and allow students to recharge.
